Thank you so much for your compassion and understanding while treating Pete. He was with me for 10 years and a loving companion. Our son, Gavin (who is 3 ½), had a very difficult time. He knew Pete was ill and that I took him to see you. When I came home, he wanted to see him. When I explained what happened, he started crying and did not stop. He kept begging to see him. I called his Pediatrician and he said if he really wanted to see him and was that upset that it may do him good. When he saw him, it was closure for him. He petted him and gave him one of his blankets. Then, he found him a ball and painted a dog to be buried with him. We found a place to bury him under the front window where he spent most of his days being a watchdog and alerting us to every jogger and biker that passed by. As much as that drove me crazy, I would give anything to hear it again. He was my friend, confidant and protector. He will be sorely missed. I have attached a picture of Pete from when he was a puppy. I submitted this photo to a contest many years ago. He won and was on greeting cards for awhile. I submitted it to the PeoplePets.com photo contest currently running. It would be awesome if he won. Thank you again for everything.
